Nicole's Daybook

Outside my window... Is ME. I am sitting on my back porch with Crusoe having a cup of coffee on this beautiful, crisp, fall morning.

I am thinking... about the constant correlation between me being the parent of a bratty teenager, and God being my parent. Who's the bratty teenager in that scenario?

I am thankful ... for Dawson's guitar instructor and the confidence he has given Dawson in just a few short weeks.

I am wearing... black yoga pants, a gray t-shirt and purple and gray zip up hoodie.

I am planning... to put out our fall decorations this weekend.

I am creating... Oklahoma postcards to send out as part of our U.S. States postcard swap.

I am going... to the library later this morning. I am always going to the library.

I am reading...  The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (Dawson and I are reading this at the same time, so we are passing it back and forth), The Captain's Dog by Roland Smith, (Dawson's read-a-loud), lots of books each day with Eli and Brynne, 1 John (as part of the Good Morning Girls Bible study).

I am hoping... the new changes in our little church cause positive results!

From the learning rooms... Six week progress reports have come out. Six weeks already? We're almost done with our first quarter! Mostly grades are great. There are some areas of improvement, though.

Noticing that ... My son was sleeping on a mattress in the upstairs living room this morning. I can't wait to find out what that was all about.

From the kitchen... Fall favorites.

Around the house... the sun is rising behind the bluff, the birds are singing, the family is starting to rise and get ready for the day. It's peaceful.

One of my favorite things... Are weekends at home with nothing to do. Looking forward to one of those coming up!

A few plans for the rest of the week... This is a pretty quiet week. Just the norm. Eli and Brynne have Boys' and Girls' Clubs this afternoon, and then Eli will go bowling with Rick. Dawson has youth tomorrow night. Kyndal works a couple nights this week, then has homecoming activities on Friday night. I am in charge of a 5th Friday Fun Day for Co-op on Friday, and then we'll go grocery shopping. Other than that ... not much going on but just enjoying our fall television shows in the evenings.

From my picture journal.

This LITTLE guy was walking across the street the other day.

Lots of women Daybook. See what they have to say at The Simple Woman's Daybook.

  1. I think I would have a heart attack if I saw that spider. And this is coming from the person who saves the spiders inside the house from certain death.
