Last weekend we went to a surprise 40th birthday party for a guy Rick went to high school with. While we were waiting for the guest-of-honor to arrive, he ran into a girl that he went to college with. (She didn't even recognize him.)
They started the usual conversation of 'how have you been? where do you live? how many kids do you have?'
Rick spoke up and told her that I was homeschooling Dawson and Brynne. I wasn't going to mention it, because it really wasn't a topic that was being brought up. But, he told her. And he said it in a way that made me feel like he was really proud of me. It was almost like he was bragging, saying, "look what cool thing my wife is doing."
It made me feel so good.
