Under the Weather
School has been called off due to rain. Not the whole school system, but ours has. Kyndal was feeling really rough yesterday, probably sinuses but they caused her to have a bad sore throat. She didn't go to school today. I didn't sleep very well and just felt cruddy when I woke up this morning. Plus, it was pouring and thundering and lightening. Rick and I laid in bed and cuddled for a minute. I was just feeling exhausted and had a headache. He told me I should take it easy today. I told him I was tempted to not have school today, and to even keep Eli home. He said he thought that was a great idea. He slept a little longer and went into work a tad late. I slept until 9:30. When Eli and Brynne woke up I told them that we weren't going to have school today. They said, "Yes!" Brynne said, "Because it's raining, right?" I told them this was just a special day and not to ever ask mommy to cancel school.
Do you ever just call a Day Off? Do you ever just call a day "on account of rain"?
Sometimes we just need to.

Oh yes! Rain days are so special to my family. My husband is a land surveyor and when it rains he cannot do his job; I clear the schedule and routine and we enjoy a spontanious family day :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy today and the rainbow to come after the storm!
Sometimes that's exactly what you need to re-charge and get back on task. I've been reading in various places about "February Burnout". It seems that it's common to feel just blah this time of year. I know I'm feeling it. We've only been working half days this week just to try and get a breather in.
ReplyDeleteGet some rest!
Absolutely. It's helps clear the mind. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope your day of rest helped! It sounds like you all needed a break!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your idea! We have a "4" day school week ourselves. Friday's is our day to do whatever we choose. Field trip or just pajama day. We need it, don't we??
