Daddy's Day

Rick and I got up early this morning so that he could do on Father's Day what he loves best: play another round of golf, this time with his wife along.

He played golf this weekend at Holiday Island Country Club in Eureka Springs. It was a really nice course wrapped through a retirement and vacation residential area. It was quiet on the course, and we had a great time riding around together.

Rick is always wanting me to go out with him when he plays golf, but I rarely do. It's something I should definitely do more often, because it is so relaxing and it gives Rick and I a chance to spend time together alone.

I don't play golf, but I love the sport. So what do I do while Rick is playing? I grab a good book ... this time The Most Exotic Marigold Hotel by Deborah Moggach ... and read when I'm not watching him or taking pictures. He is always really happy to share the courses and his game with me.

We had a nice day. The weather was perfect, sunny with a slight wind and not too hot. He actually played two balls, one being "mine". And "I" beat him by two strokes.

The views, butterflies and flora were really beautiful! Different couples sponsor garden areas, so they were all different and very pretty.

After we were done with golf, we started for home. We stopped for lunch at AQ Chicken House in Springdale, Arkansas. It is by far the best chicken ever!!

When we got home, Eli and Brynne gave Rick their gifts .. two new golf shirts. We ordered pizza for dinner. And then Rick, Dawson, and Antonio (our other son) went for a double feature at the movie theatre to see Men in Black 3 and Rock of Ages.

This was a MAN'S Father's Day, and I'm blessed I got to spend it with mine.

Happy Father's Day, babe! Thank you for being such a loving and involved daddy to our children. They are so blessed. You are making such an important difference in their lives, and they cherish you.

(And Happy Father's Day to my dad, Bill. I hope you had a great day!)
