Outside my window... it's actually a little cloudy, breezy, and cool so far. But don't let that deceive you .. it will be stinkin' hot in no time.
I am thinking... about the dream I had last night where my dogs kept going down the bluff to go potty. One time I saw a mountain lion prowling around them and I was sure they had been attacked. Another time I saw Quincy get sprayed by a skunk. Then I dreamed I kept losing my kids at an open-air fair. In my dreams I was almost constantly frantically screaming for someone.
I am thankful ... for the opportunity for Rick and I to take the kids to St. Louis this week. They are so excited and it's going to be so much fun for them.
I am wearing... Canton "Shop 'til you drop" t-shirt and black, hot pink and white plaid pajama short bottoms
I am planning... our "schedule" for St. Louis .. attractions, meals, etc.
I am creating... water balloon flip flops for Brynne. That will give me something to do on the trip to St. Louis.
I am going... to clean house today and finish packing.
I am reading... Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey by The Countess of Carnarvon, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel by Deborah Moggach (SOOO good!), Last Child in the Woods by Richard Louv
I am hoping... for safe travels for us and good times! I am also hoping our little doggies do good with their first time boarding, and that Crusoe does good with going on vacation with us.
From the learning rooms... Nada ... well, if you call a trip to St. Louis "nada". (Don't tell the kids, but they'll be learning lots!)
Noticing that ... after only a few actual driving sessions, Dawson's confidence has increased ten-fold.
From the kitchen... are ice chests, bags, and boxes of food we are taking to St. Louis. Our hotel room has a full kitchen, and we are going to take advantage of that to keep costs down.
Around the house... everyone is still sleeping, even though it's 9:30 a.m. Dawson is already at work, and I'm enjoying the last of my quiet time.
One of my favorite things... is my bed. I don't sleep well anywhere but in my bed, so I am hoping that I get some decent sleep this week away from it.
A few plans for the rest of the week... Today we are packing up, and Brynne has piano lessons this afternoon. Tomorrow morning I am taking the little dogs to get boarded, bright and early, and then we are headed to St. Louis. We are going to go to the Arch, the zoo, City Museum, The Magic House, and Grant's Farm. Rick and I are going to spend an evening out together at Party in the Plaza at Westport Plaza, while the kids are vegging in the hotel room. We are going to take them out to dinner one night at the fun (and yummy) Fitz's, where they bottle their famous root beer right there for you to see. Talk about yummy root beer floats!! We are just going to have a great time!!
