3 in 30 - January/February

How did I do on my 3 in 30 goals for January? Two out of three goals were met consistently. One, not at all.

January's Goals:

1.  Commit to my daily personal devotion time, Bible study, and prayer. In this area, I did very well. For my personal devotion time each day, I read three entries in the book Stepping Heavenward by E. Prentiss and two chapters in the Psalms. Some days I journal; some days I don't. I tend to journal only when I am downtrodden. I would like to get more in the habit of journaling the good and bad times. I am also meeting with a friend every other Tuesday to discuss the book Beautiful in God's Eyes by Elizabeth George. I committed to praying for my husband every day in January as part of the 31 Days to Build a Better Spouse. I found myself feeling that the prayers needed to be prayed over me more than my husband most days.

2.  Start printing photos and putting them in albums. THIS WAS MY EPIC FAIL. I did manage to make photo calendars for Rick and my parents. But, no photos were printed. No photo albums were purchased.

3.  Do weekly grading, gradebooking, feedback, and filing of Dawson's school work. In other words, just stay caught up. I did great on this goal. Each weekend I graded all his work and got it inputted and filed. And I was better about reviewing his daily assignments more quickly and giving him feedback and extra work, if needed.

February Goals:

1.  Continue with my daily devotion time, Bible study, and prayer. Also try to journal more consistently, including praises as well as desperate prayers.

2.  Engage in an act of physical intimacy with each member of my family every day! Whether it's a snuggle, hug, kiss, or all three while telling them I love them, it doesn't matter. I want them each to FEEL my love in a physical way.

3.  Get January and February's photos printed from the years 2008 to 2011 and put in photo albums. (I really want to get this accomplished this year!)

  1. Hi-I've been reading your blog for a while and love it! I'm the Programs Coordinator for Owasso Community Resources and was interested to see what homeschooling group you belong to? We do the Thanksgiving and Giving Tree (Christmas) programs in town. I thought that we would have a great chance for homeschooling kids to do some community volunteering together. Can you steer me in the right direction? Thanks-Gage

  2. You are very right...we need to vocalize when things are good....it helps you and everyone else around you.

Keep up the good work and remember that none of us are perfect!
