Nicole's Daybook

Outside my window... It's cold and crisp, and now dark. I didn't get my Daybook done this morning like I usually do.

I am thinking... about how much fun I have homeschooling.

I am thankful ... that Kyndal went and applied for a job today.

I am wearing... jeans, a striped long-sleeved t-shirt, brown long sweater and Uggs my pjs and robe.

I am planning... daily school activities.

I am creating... ideas for Brynne's bartering table at Coop in two weeks.

I am going... to finish watching The Biggest Loser and input some grades.

I am reading... The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck, The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare and A Williamsburg Household by Joan Anderson

I am hoping... that if our house is supposed to sell, that it will, and if it's not, it won't.

On my mind... Eli's excitement over his birthday and how I need to get his party planned and set!

From the learning rooms... At home we are focusing on Ancient Rome, Colonial Williamsburg, rocks and minerals and Christmas. Eli is doing lots of Christmas activities at school and is looking forward to the Yo-Yo demonstrator coming to his school tomorrow. Kyndal went and toured the Vo-tech facility where she would go to cosmetology school next year. Awesome opportunity for her!

Noticing that ... the difficulties of this time of year are upon us and I need to do my part.

From the kitchen... a snack beckons me.

Around the house... The Fall items are now put away, and Christmas things are slowly being displayed. We won't put our tree up until December 17th, and won't decorate it until December 23rd. We're wanting to concentrate on Christmas over a short period of time this year so it's fresh and alive for us.

One of my favorite things...sleeping in on a cold Saturday morning.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Not a whole lot is going on this week. And I'm happy about it. On Saturday evening we are having some friends over for dinner. And then on Sunday we will hang out at home. I will likely be planning next week's lessons, inputting end-of-semester grades and cleaning house.

From my picture journal.
Brynne trying to catch the hoop with two sticks in Game of Graces, a Colonial game children played in the 1700's (that she and I made this week.) She is awesome at this game and loves it!

Lots of women Daybook. See what they have to say at The Simple Woman's Daybook.

  1. OMGoodness, girl! I admire you! Putting the tree up on the 17th and not decorating until the 23rd? Now that's pure, simple Joy! I wish I could do that. I think you've given me a goal for next year.
