Yeah, this isn't really her ... yet! |
She is very excited about her new job at Sonic! She gets to start tonight. She'll start on the crew, fixing drinks, then will move up to taking orders and then will move to carhop. She can skate if she wants to. That's undecided at this point. She figures she should learn to carry a tray on shoes before she moves to skates.
We are very proud of her for seeking out this job on her own. She had me take her to apply on Friday and they called her on Sunday. She had her orientation yesterday afternoon.
And now she gets to go get her driver's license.
It's been difficult for her to wait (since November, when she turned 16) to get her license. But we felt it was very important for her to have a job and show that level of responsibility before she was allowed to get her license and start driving. She will be responsible for all of her own gas and her insurance, so having a job was crucial. And now she has one and is very excited about all that it means.
Way to go Kyndal!
Congrats! bet she will do great on tips come late spring and summer :)
ReplyDeleteand tell her I didn't get my license till I was 18. Hung out with a big group of friends and they boys always picked us up and took us anywhere we asked. plus we only had 1 car :)
Sonic is so much fun best of luck to her. I think it was a great idea to make her wait till she got a job.
ReplyDeleteYou should be very proud. So many lessons come with a first job, first paycheck, etc. It's a big milestone.
ReplyDeleteWow! Good for her taking the initiative to get a job! I know you're one proud momma!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful!! Good for her! :-)
