Clipping not Pinning!

(Let me start off by saying that I am so tired of not feeling good. SO TIRED. On top of continued wisdom teeth pain, I have had an allergy attack/cold this week that has drug me down even further. I don't feel worth a darn. Last night Rick and I met for dinner at Panera, cause soup is about all I enjoy eating, and then headed to Kohls with our 30% off coupon. And, you know, I felt so cruddy that I didn't even feel like shopping ... with a 30% off coupon! While standing in the checkout line ... Rick did feel like shopping ... he noticed, with as much kindness and sweetness as he could, the extreme dark circles under my eyes. I told him that I just felt exhausted from feeling so bad. We came home, I ice packed my chin where the parasthesis {continued numbness and pin-prick pain} is, and then gave up and went to bed at about 9:00. Today, I feel much the same. And, it's dark, dreary, freezing cold and super-windy outside. So I am hoping things start looking up soon.)

All right ... on to my regular post.

Pinterest.

My non-conformist personality would not let me jump on the bandwagon. My philosophy, again, is that if the world is getting obsessed with it, I should stay away. Choosing the narrow road kind of mentality.

Also, I realized immediately that I just DID NOT need something else to occupy my time during the day! I can easily get obsessed with things, and I know myself well enough to know that I would have spent many mindless hours searching and searching and searching. This is one of the reasons why we don't do Facebook (only one of the reasons), Twitter, and many other world-crazy things.

But there is one thing about Pinterest that really interested me ... I really liked the idea of having a place to put any great homeschooling ideas I find. Because, sometimes I bookmark it on my iPad, sometimes on my laptop, sometimes in Safari, sometimes in Firefox. Then I just completely forget it's there. Having a central place to quickly send any ideas I find would be so great!

So, I tried to cave to Pinterest for that purpose.

But, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT TO USE IT!

And then last night I was reading a blog post about Clipix!

This is what it looks like on your Bookmarks Bar (next to Facebook ... ironic. This is a photo from the site.)

I got on, signed up, set up my categories, put the "Clip" link on my Bookmarks Bar, and now I'm ready to go. Anytime I find an idea I like, I just click the "Clip" link, add it to my desired Category, and it's there! Perfect for me!

Honestly, I don't know if you can search for ideas or not. I assume you probably can. But I don't intend to search for anything unless I am just really needing to find something useful.

So, if you are annoyed with Pinterest, or don't have a Facebook account and want to use it, or you are wanting an easy way to store your ideas, check out Clipix. It might be just what you are looking for.
