On Thursday night, Dawson and I got to spend the evening together, eating dinner out and doing some shopping.
Last night, Rick and I did the same thing. However, we skipped Taco Bell and went to Charleston's instead. We had a nice, quiet meal together, after I visited his new office. (He is so happy at his new job and that makes ME happy! One great perk is that they work a longer day Monday through Thursday so they can have EVERY Friday afternoon off. AND the golf course is a block away from his office. Hmmmm ... wonder if I'll see him on any Friday afternoons. Probably not.)
After dinner we went home to get the kids ready for bed, and then went to do a little shopping ourselves. I needed to return a swimming suit of Brynne's to Old Navy. We picked up a few more goodies while we were there. And then it was time to get groceries for the bachelor pad that our house will become at about 3:00 p.m. today.
I've mentioned before how much I enjoy our grocery shopping dates. I see a lot of married couples together and they are usually fighting and so grouchy and undeniably miserable. But to me, it's just another opportunity for Rick and I to squeeze in some time together ALONE (well, with hundreds of other people and their screaming kids). It's hard to carve out time when you have kids ... we all know that. And getting groceries together is just another time for us to hang out. Rick's a constant comedian, so he actually makes it fun.
It was a nice evening together! And now I'm getting all packed up to leave him behind for a week while the Littles and I bask in the sun of Pensacola, Florida!
