Weekend Wrap-up ~ A Happy Exhaustion

Whew! I am tired tonight! I am laying on the couch in my jammies and robe, surrounded by the dogs, drinking some hot green tea, and watching Chopped. This is pretty much the first time I have sat down all weekend.

On Friday, the kids and I spent a few hours doing our grocery shopping. We wanted to get it done early in the day because daddy and Antonio were coming for the weekend. They got here at about 7:00 p.m. We ate some pizza and hung out at home, playing WWE and doing lots of laughing. Dawson, Taylar, Antonio and a couple more of his friends went bowling for the evening. I wasn't feeling very well, so I climbed into bed kind of early for some computer time.

Saturday was a busy day of cleaning house. Then that evening Rick and I snuck away for dinner out and a movie. We went to see "Lincoln", which was very good. Daniel Day Lewis, Sally Field, and Tommy Lee Jones were phenomenal. What did that movie teach us? Things in the political world haven't changed much, if any, except that there isn't any heart like Lincoln's. It was so nice to spend some time alone with Rick. We haven't done that in a long time!

Today was a marathon! We got up this morning and went to Sunday school. Then I came home and gathered up Kyndal and half of her closet for her to go have her senior pictures taken. We used a young girl from the town where I went to college. It was a great photo shoot! She gave us unlimited time, unlimited locations, and unlimited outfits for a flat rate, and she will give us the disc so that we can order our own photos. Kyndal modeled for over four hours! In fact, I had to leave for another commitment and the photographer talked me  into leaving Kyndal with her to go to another town for some more photos. (Don't freak ... it was totally safe.) I left and they carried on for another hour and a half. Collin went to pick her up. I cannot WAIT to see these photos! Kyndal is extremely photogenic, especially in a photo shoot setting, and I think the photographer had a great time with her!

I raced the 45 minutes home, squealed into my driveway on two wheels, ran in the house and changed clothes, and sped up to our church to play in the bell choir. We had one song to play, at the beginning of a historical society fundraiser. I was back home within 15 minutes.

Then it was time to go to mom and dad's for dinner. We had spaghetti, salad, and bread, and red velvet cake and cookies. We cuddled with Ashtyn and visited for a while before Rick and Antonio had to head back to Oklahoma.

Again, I am exhausted, but happy for such a great weekend.
