Last week I realized the challenge of holding a dog leash and an iPod. So on Tuesday night Rick and I went and bought me an armband to hold it. It makes running sooooo much easier!
I walked/ran my 1.8 mile route on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. I found that my hips were really sore in the joints, so Thursday was primarily a walking day. By Saturday the soreness was worked out.
On Saturday I worked in our front gardens cutting out constantly-growing vines that shouldn't be there. You would be surprised what a workout that is! And it was blistering hot, so I was sweating like a pig.
Overall I would say this was a great week for fitness!
And now that it's summer, and I am not teaching all day every day, I can get back to my Cleaning by Acronyms system. I found that in homeschooling this system just added too much to my day, so I did all of my housework on Saturday or Sunday. I did enjoy working hard just one day and having it all done. I'll have to see which system I really like best. Here's how it works. (I have posted about this numerous times.)
Mounds of Laundry and Mop it Monday ~ I do all of our laundry (usually about 6 large loads) and vacuum and mop our floors.
Toilet Tuesday ~ I clean all the bathrooms.
Wipe it Wednesday ~ I disinfect all surfaces (although I do this in the kitchen several times a week) and dust.
Tidy up Thursday ~ I put all things back where they go and de-pile my areas. (I am a piler.)
Finish up Laundry and Floors Friday ~ Pretty much a repeat of Monday, but no mopping and I vacuum upstairs (which I don't do on Monday).
And then that allows me to just enjoy the weekend and what it brings.
I am linking up with Mrs. White at The Legacy of Home.
I'm glad you like your new arm band! I have one, but I haven't really used it much yet.
ReplyDeleteI do all of my laundry in one day too. If I didn't, I'd be throwing in loads constantly!
Sounds like a great system! i used to do something similar . . . but am back to the clean-on-Saturday system foor the same reason you mentioned!
