Getting Fit ~ Week 3 {Feel the Heat!}

With some heat exhaustion late last week, my workouts came to a halt after Wednesday. On Monday I did a good 1.8 mile walk/run interval route. Then on Tuesday I ran almost a full mile of that route with a brisk walk right before and after. On Wednesday I had a pulled neck, but wanted to be sure Crusoe got some exercise, so he and I just walked one mile.

On Thursday and Friday I was suffering from heat exhaustion/dehydration so I layed (literally) low.

On Saturday the kids and I walked around the zoo.

When Rick and I were out doing some quick shopping the other night, I came across these babies at Hibbett's Sports.

And they were marked down from $100 to $39.99. And they were the only pair left. And they were in my size. And they were totally comfortable. And they were in my signature color of green. So they are now mine! It was just meant to be.

I know they will make my working out so much better with their "ball" support technology to work those important leg muscles (or something like that). If not, at least I'll be following my husband's motto ... "If you can't be good, look good!"

Although I know that my cardio workouts are good, I am thinking I need to throw in some strength training as well. I'm not sure yet how I am going to do that, but I would like to do it a couple of days a week. I am thinking of maybe limiting my Tuesday/Thursday walk to just a .25 mile walk, 1/2 mile run, .25 mile walk and then come home and do a sculpting show I have DVR'd. (That way Crusoe still gets his coveted morning walk.) Then on Monday, Wednesday, Friday doing my .4 mile walk, 1 mile run, .4 mile walk.

(And I'm also looking into some superfoods from The Abs Diet to help me with my belly flab that just won't go away. I know that's where those 5 pounds are hiding.)
