Outside my window... it is snowy, icy, overcast and cold! Perfect for a day in the house.
I am thinking... about how I really want a comfy reading chair for the sitting room so that I have a place to sit and read when the kids are watching t.v. or playing video games in the living room.
I am thankful ... for a hug from my son when I am feeling discouraged.
I am wearing... COMFY clothes! It is cold outside and I am hunkered down in the house for some school and housework.
I am planning... Eli's Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet.
I am creating... an article to be published in Barb's Outdoor Hour Challenge February e-newsletter.
I am going... to get the boys' haircut today. That's always fun with Eli.
I am reading... The Forgotten Garden, by Kate Morton; Becoming a Titus 2 Woman by Martha Peace, and Peter Pan (Eli and Brynne's read-a-loud).
I am praying... for my sister who has to cut Eli's hair.
From the learning rooms... We are on Week 2 of our Polar Animals study, focusing on Canada and snowy owls this week. We are also starting two new curriculums that we are reviewing. One is a science curriculum and the other is Spanish. Brynne is so excited to learn Spanish! Adding these two subjects to our day may just do Eli in. He thinks he is already unfairly overworked. I think he'll survive, don't you??
Noticing that ... just adding a lamp to our living room next to the couch completely changed the whole look of the room. So strange! (Now I just need a cute side table to put it on.)
From the kitchen... Tuesday ~ Chicken fettucine, Wednesday ~ Potluck at church, Thursday ~ Grab a pizza after a meeting, The Weekend ~ I don't know yet, because I'll be in Portland, Oregon, visiting my brother and the kids will be with Rick having fun.
Around the house... are open suitcases. I am packing for my weekend trip to Oregon and the kids' weekend trip back to Tulsa with Rick.
One of my favorite things... are the evenings when all is dark and quiet after the kids go to bed. I look sooooo forward to it all day. I love my family, but I covet my quiet alone time.
A few plans for the rest of the week... Today is Lazy Tuesday. We get our schoolwork done and then just cozy down at home for the rest of the evening. On Wednesday evening we have church. On Thursday I am attending the parent meeting for our new Co-op. I am a little nervous cause it's hard to start a new group where you don't know anybody. I am praying that God leads me to a couple of great friends. At O'Dark:thirty on Friday morning, my parents and I are driving to Kansas City to fly to Portland, Oregon, to see my brother, sister-in-law, and 3 month old baby niece, Bell. This will be our first time to see Bell and we are so excited! We get to see Ashtyn all the time, and love it, and are looking forward to snuggling with Bell. Rick is coming here and then taking the kids back with him to Tulsa to stay at a hotel and go to church on Sunday morning to see their friends. We get back late Monday night.

Lots of women Daybook. See what they have to say at The Simple Woman's Daybook.
Have a wonderful time visiting your Oregon family. It's really cold and gloomy here today as well. Wish I was "hunkering down" reading at your house:)
