Project 365 ~ Week 2

Monday, January 7th
Back to school for us! I can't say it was a perfect day, in fact it was a little difficult to ease back into it. But it was productive. Kyndal even helped out by reading to the little kids. We played more Uno during our study breaks. We had lunch at grandma's. Eli had his Cub Scout meeting. He was chosen to be Assistant Denner for this month. I came home and did some laundry, gave the kids showers, and watched the season premiere of Downton Abbey.

Tuesday, January 8th
I got back to walking with my mom. It was a cold morning, but perfect for a brisk walk. School went much better although it was still a little slower than the norm. We had an overall good day, learning a lot and having some fun with science and art. I did have to take the clock off the wall late in the day because Eli is a slave to the clock and gets stressed. Before I cooked dinner, I took a power nap on the couch as Brynne played Wii. I cooked dinner and then watched some t.v. while the kids played. My dad stopped by to jump Dawson's battery in his car because it was dead for some reason. After the kids went to bed I read my book for an hour or so.

Dawson brought me a sweet treat.

Wednesday, January 9th
We had a great day of school! We started on time, worked hard, and got done early. Then it was playtime and power nap time for mom (I've been tired this week!). I got up and made dinner to take to potluck at church. We went to church for dinner and my bell choir practice, then came home for showers and bedtime. I finished watching Downton Abbey and Dawson turned in early.

Eli was hiding from me.

Thursday, January 10th
Since we had such a productive first three days of school for the week, we didn't have as much to do. So, we read extra. I even grabbed my book to read. The kids loved that I was reading with them instead of doing a household chore while they were reading. We also walked uptown to run some errands (go to the post office, the library, pay the water bill, and go to Dollar General.) I had a meeting at church in the evening and the kids went to my niece's basketball game with my parents. When Dawson got home, he and I watched Parenthood, but he was not feeling well. All of a sudden he ran to the restroom and vomited .. several times ... and then all night.

Friday, January 11th
The kids and I went to a nearby town to do the title and tag work on my car, getting it transfered to Missouri. The kids read their chapter books at every place we had to wait. Eli finished his first EVER chapter book. We celebrated with lunch at McDonald's and then they spent some of their Christmas money at Wal-Mart. Eli got lots of WWE toys half off, and Brynne got some Barbies and some clothes. She also got fish food for her minnow that she has now kept alive for a week in a bowl in her room. We got home and I straightened up the house. Dawson was feeling slightly better. My dad stopped by to assess our outside porch gate that had fallen off. We watched WWE Friday Night Smackdown (I can't believe I am even typing that), played some MarioKart on the Wii, and then headed to bed.

Brynne used some of her Christmas money to buy clothes. She wanted "crazy socks" like Kyndal and to wear them mismatched like all the girls do now.

Saturday, January 12th
The day started out really great with us sleeping in and then me getting right to work disinfecting the house from Dawson's flu. He woke up feeling better and I cleaned his room, as well. Then I power cleaned the house the rest of the day. When I got the mail I received some very disappointing news about my request for child support for Kyndal and Dawson, and it affected my mood the rest of the day. My frustration did cause me to clean, clean, clean, so I guess that was good. Late in the day it started to sleet and then we got some more snow. I got caught up on some DVR'd shows and lost myself in my most recent book.

Sunday, January 13th
We got up and went to Sunday school and church. Heard a great message by Andy Stanley in Sunday school, and it was much-needed. (Don't you hate that sometimes? What you need to hear but not necessarily what you want to hear.) Dawson had a couple of his friends over for a while, then his girlfriend. I hosted a Boy Scout committee meeting and the kids all played outside in the snow. We went to family dinner at my parent's that evening. Then we came home and got ready for bed. I did lesson plans and watched t.v. Dawson got to bed early.

If this girl doesn't pull that tooth, I'm gonna wrestle her to the floor!
