I have no illusions of completing this. But here's to trying. My friend Stefanie posted about her family's activities EVERY SINGLE DAY and took a photo EVERY SINGLE DAY for the year 2012. I was impressed! I'm going to give it a shot, but don't expect this to last past about week 3 (if that). Here goes, however.
Tuesday, January 1st
Today it was cold! My mom woke me up at 9:30 a.m. out of a dead, post-New Year's Eve sleep. The kids played outside in the snow and then I went to get my hair cut and colored. I picked up a few groceries at the store, went to visit my grandma at the nursing home, and then came home and fixed dinner. Dawson, Brynne, and I watched The Amazing Spiderman. Dawson then went to spend the night at my parents' with my niece (so she didn't have to stay alone), I gave the kids a bath, and then watched Parenthood. Rick spent the day at his sister's watching the Oklahoma State bowl game. Eli spent the majority of the day playing in his room.
Wednesday, January 2nd
We started our day off SLOW by sleeping in (only a few more days 'til school starts back up). Dawson and Brynne spent the day with Dawson's girlfriend while she babysat. Collin and Kyndal came for the day and Collin stayed with Eli while Kyndal and I did some post-Christmas shopping. We also got groceries. When we got home Collin and Kyndal made dinner of pork chops, party potatoes, and creamed corn. Dawson's friend Aarran stopped by. We all watched Law and Order: SVU and then went to bed. I stayed up until 12:30 a.m. finishing my book, Comfort and Joy by Kristin Hannah.
Thursday, January 3rd
Another sleeping-in day, except for Dawson who had to go back to school. The kids all got up and watched some T.V. before Kyndal and Collin left. Kyndal cheered at some basketball games in the afternoon. I had an unusual desire to clean house so spent the whole day doing that. In the afternoon the kids and I played some Just Dance 4 and Wii Sports. Brynne and I also played Hangman. She's getting really good at it! We decided to get all of our showers done early, have an easy dinner and then curled up on the couch to watch some episodes of Chopped.
Friday, January 4th
Our LAST day to sleep in. We were going to do some schoolwork, but the kids were playing so good that I scrapped that idea for deep cleaning instead. I visited with my sister and baby niece for a while in the afternoon. Rick came for the weekend and brought Dawson's best friend, Tonio. We went to Eli's pack meeting for scouts and he received his Bobcat badge. Then the boys raced minnows. It was so fun! We ran out to the high school basketball game for a while, then came home to watch WWE Friday Night Smackdown (Eli) and play Wii for a bit (Brynne, Daddy and me). Dawson and Tonio headed upstairs for an Xbox marathon.
Saturday, January 5th
We were up fairly early for a Saturday, but just lazed around all morning. I put a roast in the crockpot. My mom and dad stopped by at separate times for a quick visit. Rick and the kids went to Subway for lunch, then Rick dropped off Brynne while he and Eli went "to town" for some items. Brynne and I played Wii. As they were coming home, Dawson and Tonio were leaving to go purchase Xbox Live for Dawson's Xbox. We all cuddled in the living room and watched an Indiana Jones marathon. I might have taken a little nap (or two). Mostly I read my new book, Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. Kyndal and Collin came for the evening to spend the rest of the weekend. Kyndal was happy to report that she got a part-time job at a grocery store.
Sunday, January 6th
We got up and went to Sunday school and church, then went to my parents' for lunch. After we got back home we played bowling on the Wii and then Rick and Antonio went back to Oklahoma. Kyndal, Collin, Eli, Brynne and I played several games of Uno. We had cereal for dinner, watched Chopped and The Biggest Loser, and I did lesson plans for the upcoming week of school.
One week down, 51 more to do. We'll see.
Love it! I had aspirations of doing something to document everyday, but...I haven't posted anything yet! Haha, I'm no good at this everyday stuff anymore
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're doing this!!! I'm hoping to complete it again this year!
