Outside my window... it is getting dark. It's cold, but feels so good.
I am thinking... about how inspired I always feel in the areas of simple living and sustainability when I come back from a visit out West. It helps to bring the important things into focus.
I am thankful ... for my husband for taking two vacation days to come spend the weekend with the kids so that I could go see my brother in Portland, and for the fun weekend he gave them.
I am wearing... my pjs. We got home from Portland at 2:00 a.m. this morning. I put in a full day and am T.I.R.E.D.
I am planning... lessons for the rest of this week.
I am creating... a game plan for my garden. I cannot wait to get started on it!
I am going... to start making many trips to the Amish bulk food store outside of town. They have EVERYTHING! It really inspired me to think outside the box in my cooking.
I am reading... The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton; Becoming a Titus 2 Woman by Martha Peace, and The Storm by Cynthia Rylant (Eli and Brynne's read-a-loud).
I am praying... for Rick as he continues to be separated from us.
From the learning rooms... Today we spent the day on the computer, playing educational games and starting a new online math program that we are reviewing for the Schoolhouse Review Crew. Tomorrow we are putting in a full regular day of school, continuing with the math program, doing our Polar Animals study, and starting a new science curriculum (that we are also reviewing). Something else fun we are doing is a new Spanish program. It's pretty fun. On Thursday we are attending our first Co-op classes.
Noticing that ... my new laptop is amazing!!! (Thank you, honey!!)
From the kitchen... Wednesday ~ Potluck at church (taking grilled cheese sandwiches), Thursday ~ Red beans and rice, Friday ~ Homemade chicken alphabet soup, Saturday ~ Hmmm .. french toast?, Sunday ~ dinner at mom and dad's.
Around the house... are lots of cups of green tea. Dawson, Taylar, and I are all drinking tea and watching Chopped.
One of my favorite things... is walking through the streets of Portland getting inspiration for the outside spaces for our house.
A few plans for the rest of the week... Tomorrow is school day and church night. On Thursday we are going to our new Co-op. Friday night we may go watch Kyndal cheer because it's her court warming game. On Saturday I am taking Taylar and her mom to Kansas City to find her dress for her and Dawson's courtwarming that is next weekend. Other than that, I will be cleaning house, recuperating from a crazy week, and planning lessons for next week so we are a little more organized. On Sunday I am playing bells at church and then having dinner at my parents'.

From my picture journal.
I can't adequately express the joy I felt seeing my baby brother as a daddy. |
Lots of women Daybook. See what they have to say at The Simple Woman's Daybook.
I would love to hear more about your Amish bulk store and how shopping there changes your menu. Have a blessed day! ~Jodi
