Monday, January 14th
We had leftover ice and snow and below freezing temps so we did not get in our bike ride or walk. We had a good and productive day of school. For lunch we went to my mom's, which we do every Monday because my niece is there and my aunt comes through town for lunch on her way to work. In the afternoon Eli and Brynne played in the snow. I got dinner prepped and went over to babysit Ashtyn for a while. We had dinner when I got home and then went to Scouts. Dawson spent the evening at Taylar's. He said that it was a horrible day for him.
Tuesday, January 15th
We had another great day of learning. After school Dawson and his friend, Zac, came home to do a cooking project for health class. They hung out for a while and then went to pick up Taylar. We had dinner. I went to the library to turn in about 30 books and pick up the new release by Kate Morton (read her if you get a chance!). Then I went to see my grandma at the nursing home because my mom mentioned that she was not feeling well. In fact, she is very sick and so disoriented that she doesn't know who any of us are. They are testing for a UTI. I finished my book when i got home and then Dawson and I watched an episode of Chopped.
Wednesday, January 16th
This was a difficult and busy day. School went fine. But, my grandma started experiencing some problems. After bell choir I went to check on her and spilled a whole crockpot of potato soup in the floorboard of my car. That was nice. (And I can't remember another thing from that day). An no pics for today .... or tomorrow ....
Thursday, January 17th
We found out that my grandma had a UTI and they started her on medication. I spent the day getting ready for my trip to Portland. I also had a meeting for our new homeschool co-op in a neighboring town. Rick came to stay with the kids while I was gone.
Friday, January 18th
Mom, dad and I pulled out of town at 3:00 a.m. to go to the airport. We arrived in Portland at about 10:00 a.m. and went straight to my brother's house to see Bell. It was amazing to be with her! We immediately headed out for a long walk and had breakfast. The rest of the day was spent playing with the baby and planning our weekend. We also walked to buy Bell a new swing, and stopped at the store for some wine. We were exhausted that night so ordered food in and got to bed early. Rick had also called me that morning to tell me that he had pulled Brynne's first top front tooth. (I had been trying to get her to pull it for two weeks!)
Saturday, January 19th
Here at home, Kyndal and Dawson headed to Oklahoma for the weekend to spend time with friends. Rick, Eli and Brynne also headed to Oklahoma separately to stay at a hotel, have some fun, and visit their own friends. In Portland, dad and Tim were doing some plumbing. Mom, Shawna and I went to Goodwill and had lunch at an Indian restaurant. By the time we got home, we were exhausted so we ordered in pizza, drank wine, and played with the baby.
Sunday, January 20th
Shawna, mom, and I got up and did a little more shopping. We had coffee at a pub and met my dad and Tim at a sports bar where they were watching the playoff games. We went back to the house, got ready and walked to a brewery for dinner. We had plans to play cards and dominoes, but ended up just talking and going to bed early, again. Rick had taken the kids to church in Oklahoma and then they drove back to Missouri that evening.
