Word-filled Wednesday

What can be more delightful than to find harmony of opinion
in those we love, when a great and momentous decision has to be taken?
~ The Swiss Family Robinson

I loved this part of The Swiss Family Robinson. After being stranded on a deserted island for in excess of 10 years, the opportunity arose to leave the island and return to England. Neither the father nor mother wanted to admit to the other what their desire was, for fear the other's desire would be the opposite. When they finally agreed to reveal their decisions, they were delighted to realize that they were in complete harmony. And a great relief washed over them both.

Truly joyful moments in my marriage occur when this happens. When a big decision is to be made, it's such a relief to have the total agreement of your spouse and other family members! It allows you to walk forward with less fear and more freedom and joy.

My parents, I believe, have experienced this in their decision to sell their home and buy a smaller one, and in purchasing their home in Pensacola, Florida. They don't see eye-to-eye on many things. But they are now entering the next phase of their lives in complete harmony as to where they will spend their days. Happy 42nd Anniversary, Mom and Dad!!!

Do you have any experiences with this you want to share?

It is such a great feeling knowing your spouse feels the same way about something, especially when it a major decision in your life!
