This Easter morning we have awoken to rain and wind. It's dark and dreary. It's not what we want to wake up to on Easter morning. On this day we have visions of sunshine and warmth, spring outfits and sandals, leisurely hunting our eggs in the beautiful outdoors. Instead we will be wearing warm clothes with closed-toed shoes, hunting eggs indoors and dreaming of a brighter day.
I wonder if this is how Mary felt on Easter morning. No, it wasn't physically raining. But in her head, there were many clouds ... in her heart, it was thundering loudly ... and she was crying enough tears to cause a flood. She felt depressed, disappointed, downtrodden and hopeless.
And then she arrived at the tomb. He is not here. He is Risen!
And her dreary day turned into one of hope and joy!
And because of Him, even a cloudy, rainy day cannot dampen the true Easter spirits of those who know Him.
He is Risen!
